Broward Health Gold Coast Hospice services have joined forces with BGMC. A recent ribbon cutting ceremony marked the opening of this brand new collaborative hospice unit located on the west wing, 2nd floor of BGMC.
The eight-bed hospice unit at BGMC provides patients who are nearing end of life with a peaceful sanctuary to rest and spend time with loved ones. The wing has been refurbished with new flooring, fresh paint, and modern décor. The large rooms are private with TVs and furnishings resembling home. Each room is equipped with a pull-out couch so families can stay with their loved one if they desire. There is also a children’s playroom, a small chapel, and a family room where friends and family can relax and spend time together. The nursing staff is dedicated to giving patients expert medical care, support, and understanding.
In addition to the home-like environment the unit provides, Gold Coast will be introducing music as well as massage, aroma, and pet therapy to compliment the soothing environment they are creating.
