Good Samaritan Medical Center delivers industry-leading outcomes in Treatment of Heart Failure

October 27, 2022 Good Samaritan Medical Center today announced it is five-star rated for Treatment of Heart Failure according to new research released by Healthgrades, a leading marketplace connecting doctors and patients. This five-star rating reflects Good Samaritan Medical Center’s dedication to delivering better-than-expected clinical outcomes for Treatment of Heart Failure and distinguishes Good Samaritan Medical Center as one of the nation’s leading hospitals for specialty care.

“We are committed to delivering high-quality care to every patient who walks through our doors, and we take a family friendly approach to the care we provide,” said Good Samaritan Medical Center CEO Sheri Montgomery.  “Receiving these designations from Healthgrades is a testament to the dedication of our team to deliver special heart related care.”

Healthgrades evaluated patient mortality and complication rates for 31 common conditions and procedures at nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide to identify the top-performing hospitals for Treatment of Heart Failure. This year’s analysis revealed significant variation in patient outcomes between five-star hospitals and one-star hospitals. From 2019 through 2021, if all hospitals as a group performed similarly to five-star hospitals, on average, 201,586 lives could potentially have been saved, and 160,498 patients could have avoided potential complications.*

From 2019-2021, patients treated for Heart Failure in hospitals with five-stars for in-hospital mortality have, on average, 61.4% lower risk of dying than if they were treated in hospitals with 1-star for in-house mortality.*

“We commend Good Samaritan Medical Center for their ongoing commitment to providing high-quality care to patients being treated for Heart Failure,” said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer and Head of Data Science at Healthgrades. “Consumers can feel confident that hospitals with five-star rating by Healthgrades have demonstrated their ability to deliver consistently exceptional outcomes.”
