Governor Ron DeSantis recently announced the appointment of Madonna Stotsenburg, the Director of Trauma and Emergency Services at St. Mary’s Medical Center, to the Florida Trauma System Advisory Council. Stotsenburg graduated from Weber State University with a bachelor’s degree in health services administration, the University of Miami with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, Florida International University with an MBA, and the University of Central Florida with a doctorate in nursing.

Along with six others, Stotsenburg will be focusing on enhancing current and upcoming trauma centers, emergency departments, and emergency medical care infrastructure. The Council works to ensure that Florida’s trauma care system remains strong, effective, and responsive to the needs of the state’s citizens.
