Intensive outpatient programming provides flexible addiction recovery options

February 27 2020 – In an effort to address the needs of substance use disorder patients across the continuum of care, Hanley Center at Origins has opened Hanley Center Counseling to be operated at its 933 45th Street Resource Center offices in West Palm Beach. This new arm of treatment programming offers a wide range of outpatient counseling services for patients who are appropriate candidates for a lower level of care.

“Alcohol and drug use varies from person to person, and each patient has different needs on the path to recovery,” says Dr. John Dyben, Chief Clinical Officer for Origins Behavioral Healthcare. “Like other health conditions, there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to treating substance use disorders.”

Origins Behavioral HealthCare is a licensed provider of gender- and age-specific residential substance use disorder treatment and continuing care services for adult men, adult women, and older adults. Their mission is to provide a clear path to a life of healing and restoration. With corporate headquarters in Dallas, the company’s innovative programs comprise a comprehensive continuum of care for the treatment of substance use and co-occurring disorders. Origins’ premier residential and intensive outpatient campuses are located in West Palm Beach, Dallas and South Padre Island, Texas.

According to Dr. Dyben, challenges with the demands of work, family or other financial considerations mean that for some, the traditional model of 28-day residential treatment may not be accessible. Instead, an intensive outpatient treatment program along with a safe, structured sober living environment may be an effective alternative for many.

During their time with Hanley Center Counseling, each patient will be assigned a primary therapist who will facilitate the entire medical, psychological, psychiatric, social, family, and spiritual assessment process, Dyben explains. These compassionate counselors work directly with patients through various group and individual sessions.

With 10 scheduling options, this intensive outpatient program addresses the same concerns as inpatient treatment while allowing patients and their families to continue everyday life. It is ideally suited for people who do not require residential treatment or are returning home after a residential treatment stay. It may be particularly useful to local residents in Palm Beach and Martin counties for whom inpatient care is inconvenient due to their day-to-day responsibilities.

Hanley Center Counseling services include:
Counseling for co-occurring mental health conditions
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Motivational Interviewing
Individual and group therapies
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Continued medical care
Neurological Interventions
Continuing care and discharge planning

“Our various levels of care through Hanley Center Counseling are designed to support long term recovery,” Dyben says. “Like our other programs, our mission is to provide a clear path to a life of healing and restoration.”
