The Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association is the premier catalyst for the leadership development of women in healthcare worldwide. Their mission is to further the advancement and impact of women in healthcare worldwide. The HBA accomplishes this by:
• Providing educational opportunities to develop cutting-edge industry knowledge and leadership skills
• Recognizing outstanding women in the industry
• Providing opportunities for networking, creating greater visibility for individuals in the industry, and fostering mentoring relationships
• Serving as a conduit for research on career advancement issues
For the first time the HBA is holding its 2012 HBA Leadership Conference in Florida. The conference begins with a special session led by 2012 HBA Woman of the Year, Carolyn Buck Luce from Ernst and Young entitled "The new healthcare ecosystem: From developing new medicines to delivering healthy outcomes.”Buck will discuss how the healthcare industry is now on the cusp of its biggest transformation yet as it begins to morph into a new healthcare “ecosystem." The new ecosystem will be comprised of established industry members, an increasingly informed consumer and a host of non-traditional companies lured into the sector by such trends as health reform, health IT, comparative effectiveness and the rising confidence
in consumer power.
The conference also has a dozen interactive workshops, three inspiring keynote speakers and offers the opportunity to network with women and men from across the entire healthcare spectrum. Held on November 7 – 9, at the Gaylord Palms Hotel, in Orlando, early bird registration rates are available through September 28. Day rates also are available.
