Callow brings experience within HCA Florida Healthcare to Palm Beach County from the Treasure Coast
October 24, 2022 – HCA Florida JFK North Hospital, an industry-leading 280-bed acute care facility, welcomes John Callow as Vice President of Quality and Patient Safety, effective October 24, 2022.

Callow’s most recent role was director of patient safety at HCA Florida St Lucie Hospital, where he was responsible for leading patient safety, science, and risk management initiatives to build robust systems and processes to support the ultimate goal of achieving zero patient harm.
Callow has overseen the implementation of high-reliability organization principles and process improvement methodologies to reduce harm and improve patient outcomes. Additionally, Callow has helped to drive significant improvement in patient-facing metrics and evidence-based process implementation, reducing hospital-acquired conditions and serious safety events.
Callow’s 16-year career has taken him from New York to Texas and down to Florida with a breadth of experience in EMS, firefighting, emergency management, disaster management, domestic terrorism prevention, nursing, patient safety, quality, and leadership.
Callow holds a BSN from Molloy University, an MSN in Nursing Education from Grand Canyon University, and an MBA in Healthcare Administration from the University of North Alabama. He is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) and has completed the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s (IHI) Quality University, and the University of Florida’s Healthcare Risk Management and Patient Safety certificate program.
