The Health Care District of Palm Beach County is now scheduling pediatric patient visits with a C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics’ pediatrician in order to receive the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for children five months through six years of age.  Based on availability, these appointments would be for established pediatric patients or children who wish to become clinic patients at the Lantana, West Palm Beach and Belle Glade clinic sites. A parent or guardian must be present for the appointment.

Per vaccine manufacturer guidelines, the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine requires two doses one month apart with the exception of a third dose for children who have been determined to have certain kinds of immunocompromise.  This week the Health Care District’s clinics, which are Federally Qualified Health Centers, received a shipment of 1,000 Moderna COVID-19 vaccine doses for young children from the federal government. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has authorized this vaccine and recommends that all children, including children who have already had COVID-19, get vaccinated.
