• CPOE – Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) is a great advancement in technology that improves the quality of healthcare. CPOE is a data entry system that allows doctors to connect instantly with labs, pharmacies, and other health departments. The test results are processed faster and more accurately and a patient’s medical history is accessed quickly to crosscheck for dangerous interactions of medications.
• Radiofrequency Tracking – Important equipment throughout the facility are outfitted with small radio frequency badge that receives information to track movement from one location to another. This tag allows the hospital to better allocate resources, quickly turnover clean rooms and provide more efficient and timely patient care.
• Elekta Synergy® S System – The Aventura Comprehensive Cancer Center is the first and only facility in South Florida using the Elekta Synergy®S System in its radiation treatment arsenal. The system has integrated 3D imaging that enables clinicians to obtain cone beam CT images of patients just before treatment. This capability allows physicians to visualize tumors at the point of treatment, offering more precise targeting of tumors with radiation beam.
• Super Dimension – The superDimension i•Logic™ System uses Electromagnetic Navigation Bronchoscopy® (ENB)™ to reach lesions deep in the lungs in a minimally invasive process. Using this system enables our physicians to find and diagnose lesion in the lung earlier, leading to quicker treatment and better outcomes.
• Vitals Now – Vitals Now is an innovative, cost-effective solution that provides real-time flow of vital signs from the bedside into the current patient monitoring system and record. The second-by-second update of vital signs increases communication on the coordination of care and greatly improves patient safety.
• Airstrip – Coming soon to Aventura Hospital and Medical Center, this revolutionary new technology will allow physicians to access patient vitals while the ambulance is in transit to the hospital, shaving crucial time off assessment and saving lives. The system monitors heart rhythms and sends the information in real-time to the ER where a physician can assess and diagnose the patient before they even leave the ambulance.
