The grant will support the operations of the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile©

March 6, 2023 – Healthcare Network has received a $20,000 grant from Suncoast Credit Union to help support the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®, a mobile pediatric office that travels to schools, community centers and neighborhoods to deliver dental and medical care to children in Collier County.

Since 2004, the Care Mobile has provided dental care directly to children and families who face barriers to care such as transportation, language, financial and poor oral health literacy. In 2021, the Care Mobile provided 2,759 sealants and 1,872 oral exams and screenings. The grant will support continued outreach to pediatric patients, delivering essential dental care and resources.

“Suncoast Credit Union Foundation has been a great supporter of the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®,” said Patty Inks, director of dental operations for Healthcare Network. “This grant allows us to reach even more underserved children, many of whom have not never been to the dentist. The work we do at Healthcare Network, made possible by this grant, is critical to helping young children connect with a dental care team, ultimately getting them on the right path to good oral health for years to come.”

“As a part of the Suncoast Credit Union mission to promote education, health and emotional well-being of children in our communities, we are glad to collaborate with Healthcare Network to reduce health disparities to help children live healthier lives unimpeded by medical or dental issues,” said Kourtney Berry, Executive Director of the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation. “Since its inception in 1990, the Foundation has helped provide a better future for the children of our community and we are proud to continue supporting organizations that help us accomplish our goals.”

The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile® is just one of the ways Healthcare Network is breaking barriers to healthcare in Collier County.
