April 30, 2020 – Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade (HSCMD), the County’s prenatal and infant care coalition, recently named Jeannette Torres, a mental health care counselor with over ten years of proven success in child and family services administration, to Chief of Staff.
In her newly appointed position as Chief of Staff, Mrs. Torres will oversee all the coalition’s internal operations and related services to achieve maximum effectiveness. Her primary responsibility will be as a relationship builder, both internally and externally. She will ensure strong connections and influence outcomes across the organization, as well as foster long-term partnerships that are a critical part of HSCMD’s success.
“She is already such an integral part of the Coalition and has moved this organization forward to help the most treasured population in Miami-Dade County- pregnant moms and their infants. I truly could not think of anyone better qualified to take on this role,” said HSCMD CEO Manuel “Manny” Fermin.
Mrs. Torres served in several progressively responsible roles during the past 10 years with HSCMD from Supervisor to Manager and Director of Programs. She brings professional experience to her new position at the coalition. Prior to joining the Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade, Mrs. Torres served in a variety of positions focusing on early learning and mental health.
Mrs. Torres earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Florida International University and two years later earned a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University, graduating with honors from both institutions.
