August 27 2020 – Hialeah Hospital proudly honors Mayda Cruz Soler RN, CIC with a special recognition Heroes award. As the Director of Infection Control, Mayda is being recognized for striving to make a difference one patient at a time. She has implemented processes that have resulted in improved work flows during this pandemic. Mayda embodies everything a leader should be.
She was instrumental in creating a manual for the hospital at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic that helped the hospital universally adopt appropriate CDC guided processes and protocols. She also works closely with the local fire departments to share best practices to help keep first responders safe. Her co-workers enjoy working with her because she is always available to assist in any way she can. As a Certified Infection Control Nurse, she is committed to best practices in infection prevention and control and to improve patient care here at Hialeah Hospital.
