September 22, 2022 – Gastroenterologist Evgeny Idrisov, M.D. and Endocrinologist Maria del Mar Morales Hernandez M.D. have joined Holy Cross Medical Group, a multi-specialty physician employed group of more than 160 physicians providing services throughout Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Dr. Idrisov joins Holy Cross Health from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, where he completed a Fellowship in Gastroenterology. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American College of Physicians and the American and Florida Medical Associations. His work has been widely published. During his training, Dr. Idrisov was actively involved in colon cancer screening and prevention research. He participated in the publication of multiple peer reviewed articles on Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR) of advanced colorectal polyps. Additionally, he took part in the publication of several peer-reviewed articles in gastrointestinal bleeding, evaluating the utility of various scoring system predicting outcomes in patients with nonvariceal bleeding. Dr. Idrisov graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biological chemistry from Florida Atlantic University Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College and received his medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine. He completed ACGME residency in Internal Medicine at Advent Health Orlando and served as a Chief Resident at Florida State University College of Medicine at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Dr. Idrisov speaks English and Russian and is a resident of Fort Lauderdale. His office is located at 1900 E. Commercial Boulevard, Suite 201, in Fort Lauderdale.

 

Dr. Morales is an internist who specializes in disorders of the endocrine glands, diabetes, and metabolism. A member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, Endocrinology Society and American Medical Association, she has published multiple abstracts and manuscripts and has significant research experience in molecular biology, biochemistry and social/behavioral health. Dr. Morales graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in General Sciences from Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico and earned her Doctor in Medicine from Ponce Health Sciences University in Puerto Rico. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville and an Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Morales is a resident of Fort Lauderdale. Her office is in the Holy Cross Endocrinology and Internal Medicine Department, 4701 N. Federal Hwy.
