Paul Kimelman began as a volunteer in the Infusion Department at the Holy Cross Health Bienes Comprehensive Cancer Center in Spring of 2015. Since then, he has served nearly 3,000 hours and is a constant, calming, caring presence every Tuesday. Paul is known to and beloved by both patients and staff and is devoted to providing the highest level of personalized patient care. Paul takes the time to get to know patients, what they like, even how many blankets they want. When he is off, patients ask for him by name. Known for dressing in the latest fashion, Paul is described by staff as very kind and caring. Infusion Department Manager Carrie Byrnes says that Paul is an important member of the team. “He identifies opportunities to better the comfort and care of our patients,” Byrnes said. “He is part of our family.”
