Among 643 volunteers who collectively gave more than 122,000 hours of service to Holy Cross Hospital in 2012, Fort Lauderdale resident Shirley Healy was honored as the non-profit hospital’s 2012-2013 Volunteer of the Year.Healy was chosen among 12 Volunteer of the Month honorees, who were nominated by their peers or associates for consistent achievement over a sustained period of time, a specific outstanding contribution, prudent use of human and financial resources, dedication and innovation, and excellence in guest relations. She volunteers in the hospital’s spiritual care department, where she visits patients and serves as a Eucharistic minister.
