Non-profit Holy Cross Hospital has opened its first Urgent Care and Diagnostic Imaging Center, located at 1115 S. Federal Highway in the Rio Vista community of Fort Lauderdale. The new center improves patient access to quality, cost-effective outpatient ambulatory care services and conveniently accommodates patients who need diagnostic imaging services.“We opened this Urgent Care and Diagnostic Imaging Center to further serve the healthcare needs of our community," said Holy Cross Hospital President and CEO, Patrick A. Taylor, M.D. "People often need medical attention outside of normal business hours, and at our new urgent care center, patients can receive walk-in comprehensive medical services, as well as make convenient appointments for physicals, immunizations and diagnostic imaging tests.”
Open seven days a week, the clinic offers services such as treatment of fractures, sprains, lacerations and burns; treatment of minor illnesses such as cold and flu; and administering immunizations, vaccines and intravenous fluids. Diagnostic imaging services, including CT scans, MRIs, digital x-rays and ultrasounds, also are available. Patients also have access to basic laboratory testing, physicals, occupational medicine and workers’ compensation services.
The 7,965-square-foot facility, which features six treatment and exam areas, is the first in a series of ambulatory care centers that Holy Cross is planning to open throughout South Florida.
