The Medical Staff of Homestead Hospital has selected a new slate of leaders for 2006-2008. Ear, nose and throat specialist Steven M. Fletcher, M.D., will serve as president and orthopedic surgeon Ted Evans, M.D., will fill the seat of president-elect.
Dr. Fletcher, a Board-certified otolaryngologist, has been in private practice for 18 years. He earned his medical degree from the University of Miami and completed a residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Evans, a Board-certified orthopedic surgeon, has been in private practice for 17 years. He earned his medical degree from the University of Miami and completed a residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Homestead Hospitals physicians recently approved new bylaws that govern the medical staff, modernizing them and providing more effective guidance for medical staff leaders and those who work with them. In accordance with the new bylaws, two members-at-large were voted to serve on the medical executive committee. They are Mark Hernandez, M.D., and Luisa Lopez-Luciano, M.D.
