Hospice of Palm Beach County has created a new HERO (Hospice Education Resource Opportunity) program for clinical and non-clinical healthcare providers to help with questions, concerns and specific training for assisting patients who are approaching their end-of-life.

The four-week intensive training session is taught by hospice staff including a physician, music therapist, social worker, business development representative and an education coordinator and covers topics such as: dealing with difficult people, palliative wound care for terminally ill, pain management in hospice patients and hospice basics and benefits.

The HERO program is available to interested facilities at no cost. For more information on this program, or other programs offered by Hospice of Palm Beach County, call (561) 273-2194 or visit www.hpbc.com.
