Medical Marijuana and Food as Medicine are among the topics at this year’s Annual Future of Medicine Summit titled, “Moving Forward: Innovations in Health,” to be held Thursday and Friday, October 9 and 10 at The Kravis Center in West Palm Beach. The conference is presented by Palm Beach County Society Services in joint sponsorship with West Palm Beach VA Medical Center and MAGEC.
 
The schedule includes a slate of thought-provoking panel discussions and some highly respected national speakers, including Maya A. Bahu, MD, MBA, who will represent the American Medical Association, and keynote speaker, Michael Snyder, MD, professor and chair of Genetics and Personalized Medicine at Stanford University. CME credits will be offered to medical professionals; however, the Summit will benefit anyone who attends.
 
The Summit will begin on Thursday, October 9 at 4 p.m. with the sponsor exhibition and the James Byrnes MD Medical Student / Resident Poster Symposium. There will be a VIP reception and dinner centered on the Future of Graduate Medical Education.
 
On Friday, a full day of topics begins at 8 a.m. with Jeff Goldsmith, Ph.D., renowned health economist, a “Food as Medicine” panel discussion lead by Arthur Agatston M.D., creator of the South Beach Diet, followed by “Innovations in Health Care Delivery,” “What Makes Doctor’s Happy” and “Politics and Therapeutics of Medical Marijuana.” The event ends with a meet-and-greet candidate reception.
