It is with great pleasure that IRMC announces the appointment of Katherine Grichnik, M.D., MS, FASE, as IRMC’s Chief Quality Officer. Dr. Grichnik joined IRMC in September 2016.
Dr. Grichnik received her undergraduate degree from Wellesley College and her medical degree from Tufts University. She completed her internship at the Baylor College of Medicine followed by residency and fellowship at Harvard University. For more than 20 years, Dr. Grichnik was a professor at the Duke School of Medicine in the Department of Anesthesiology.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Grichnik was also the Associate Dean for CME, led the Center for Education Excellence at the Duke Clinical Research Institute, was an initial co-founder of the Duke Patient Safety Center with TeamStepps certifications and led the Chancellor’s Clinical Leadership Program.
In 2013 she moved to MEDNAX, Inc., a very large multispecialty national medical group, initially as the Director of Research, Education and Quality for Anesthesiology followed by promotion to the Vice President for Quality and Safety for all of MEDNAX’s specialties.
