Indian River Medical Center (IRMC) announced the addition of Mary Carter, Ph.D., as the Director of Clinical Research.
Dr. Carter has over 15 years of experience in managing clinical research, working with pharmaceutical and medical device companies, the National Institute of Health (NIH) and academic researchers. Her experience spans the spectrum from molecular biology to clinical research and global health. She earned her Ph.D. from the Medical University of Lublin, Poland, her Master of Public Health from Columbia University and her Master of Business Administration from Wagner College, New York City. And she completed an NIH sabbatical in Clinical Research Management and has been a recipient of NIH grants supporting scientific conferences.
Prior to her employment with IRMC, Dr. Carter was a consultant for the International Science and Technology Center, organized to support research projects in Eastern Europe. She is a founder of the Sustainable Kidney Care Foundation.
