Indian River Medical Center (IRMC) welcomes board-certified Neurologist Xabier Beristain, M.D., to its multi-specialty group of physicians. Dr. Beristain is a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as well as the American Board of Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Beristain attended medical school and completed his internship and residency at the University of the Basque Country, Spain. He then completed a residency in neurology at Indiana University in Indianapolis where he later served as Chief Resident. He also completed a fellowship in movement disorders at Indiana University.
Dr. Beristain’s academic and hospital appointments include assistant professor in the Department of Neurology and attending physician at Indiana University Medical Center, attending physician at Saint Vincent Hospital and Community East and North Hospitals in Indianapolis, attending physician at Maine General Hospital in Augusta, and associate professor for the Department of Neurology at Stritch School of Medicine, Loyola University Health Systems in Maywood, Illinois.
