Get an inside look at the care provided to laboring mothers by the labor and delivery staff at The Women’s Hospital at Jackson Memorial

March 10, 2023 –  Jackson Health System has launched a new docuseries titled Labors of Love, which offers an in-depth look at the care provided to laboring mothers at The Women’s Hospital at Jackson Memorial. The four-part series allows viewers to be front and center during childbirth, and gives a candid look into being a labor and delivery nurse.

Each episode focuses on a different aspect of the labor and delivery process, and all the birthing options available to laboring moms. Jackson is committed to honoring birth plans. Labors of Love also follows two labor and delivery nurses, Engie Rodriguez and Sheila L. Castillo. Viewers will be treated to an emotional look inside an emergency C-section, a late-night delivery,  a breech birth, and more.

“When I’m on the labor floor, everyone is my patient and every nurse is my partner,” Sheila L. Castillo, APRN, said.

“It’s a sisterhood, being a labor and delivery nurse,” Engie Rodriguez, RN, said.
