January 12, 2022 – JFK Medical Center Main and North Camps have named Dr. Alex Paya as Chief Medical Officer (CMO), effective January 1, 2021. Dr. Paya joins JFK Medical Center from Palms West Hospital where he served as CMO.

Dr. Paya joined HCA Healthcare in 2018 as CMO of the previous University Hospital (now HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital) and Plantation General Hospital. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Florida International University, Cum Laude, before pursuing his Doctor of Osteopathy at Nova Southern University. Dr. Paya did his clinical training at Shands Medical Center and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He also holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
