The ceremonial “topping off” for the new Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital marks another milestone in the historic making of Broward’s first stand-alone children’s hospital. At the “topping off” ceremony, dignitaries, hospital leaders, physicians, staff and other invitees had an opportunity to sign their names on the final construction beam. The day before, hospitalized children signed and placed painted handprints on a kid-sized beam that will be later displayed at the new facility. Pictured: Kathleen A.
