Juan J. Nogueras, M.D., FACS, FASCRS, a board certified colorectal surgeon, has been appointed Chief of Staff for Cleveland Clinic Florida. He previously served as Chief Medical Officer for the renowned academic medical center.

A staff physician with Cleveland Clinic Florida since 1991, Dr. Nogueras most recently served as Chief Medical Officer. In that position, he oversaw operational efficiencies, including operating room and supply chain efficiencies, strategic planning, hospital quality measures and community medical staff affairs. He also served as Chairman of the Division of Surgery for eight years.
 
Dr. Nogueras received his undergraduate education at Princeton University in Princeton, N.J., and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City and a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He served as a surgeon in the U.S. Army Medical Corps.
