The Johnny and Terry Gray Surgical Institute at Jupiter Medical Center has successfully performed the first robotic surgery utilizing the cutting-edge da Vinci 5 Robotic Surgical System. Jupiter Medical Center is one of the first 10 locations in the country to acquire the da Vinci 5.
The new da Vinci 5 is Jupiter Medical Center’s sixth surgical robot and epitomizes the pinnacle of robotic surgical systems. It offers enhanced precision, flexibility, and control far beyond traditional surgical methods with 10,000 times more computing power and innovative analytics. The da Vinci 5 is designed on a future-ready platform, promising the most advanced capabilities today and options for AI integration in the future.
Dr. K. Adam Lee, Medical Director of the Thoracic Surgery & Lung Center of Excellence, performed the first procedure and expressed his enthusiasm for the future of robotic surgery at Jupiter Medical Center. “This is a new generation of robotic surgery. I performed the first four-arm robotic lobectomy over 20 years ago and have witnessed the evolution of robotic surgery technology. Integrating the da Vinci 5 into our operating rooms is a transformation for both our surgical team and our patients. It enables us to perform complex procedures with a level of precision that was previously computing software power unattainable. I am honored to be a part of such a historic milestone,” said Dr. Lee.
