Denise Hernandez-Figueroa started as Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at Broward Health Coral Springs in March 2024. She brings to Broward Health over 15 years of nursing leadership experience after progressing through roles in Telemetry and Emergency Departments at New York Presbyterian.

Prior to joining Broward Health, Hernandez-Figueroa held director of nursing positions at Coral Gables Hospital, where she was honored with the Pandemic Hero Award for her leadership during COVID-19. She also served as CNO at Palmetto General Hospital.

“I am deeply passionate about fostering a culture of excellence in patient care and nursing practice,” Hernandez-Figueroa said. “It’s rewarding to see the positive impact we make in our patients’ lives.” Committed to nursing education, Hernandez-Figueroa contributes to local school committees to shape the future of nursing.

Hernandez-Figueroa earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing-Adult Nurse Practitioner from Long Island University, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Central Florida. As a member of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership, she focuses on nurse retention, patient experience improvement and enhancing care quality.
