Marisa Abrahiem, PharmD, MBA, BCPPS, CPh, serves as director of pharmacy at Memorial Hospital Pembroke. Mentored by leaders who recognized her talent for process improvement, she progressed from clinical pharmacist through a series of leadership roles, driven by a passion for improving patient safety and operational excellence.
Abrahiem is especially proud of leading Memorial Hospital Pembroke’s retention and recognition committee, helping create a culture where team members feel seen, valued and celebrated. She believes exceptional leaders balance innovation with empathy, empowering others while building trust through collaboration.
Her advice to emerging leaders is to stay curious, listen more than you speak and build relationships rooted in trust. “People feel valued when their voices are heard and they see the impact of their feedback and suggestions,” Abrahiem said.
One lesson that continues to shape her leadership is that meaningful progress begins by listening.
