SWFL Stronger Together Campaign Surpasses $1 Million in Community Support

May 26, 2020 –  As nonprofit healthcare systems Lee Health and NCH continue to lead the region’s fight against COVID-19, the Southwest Florida community has stepped up to support the lifesaving mission of the “SWFL Stronger Together” campaign and provide aid for the healthcare heroes on the frontline of the crisis. Bank of America is the latest partner to contribute, granting $75,000 to ensure a meaningful impact in the community it serves.

“Healthcare professionals are on the frontlines of our communities providing critical services to people affected by the coronavirus,” said Gerri Moll, Southwest Florida market president for Bank of America. “Our partnership will help protect the medical teams of Lee Health and NCH and increase their invaluable medical response capacity.”

With Bank of America’s $75,000 grant, donations of funds and in-kind support, including technology, personal protective equipment, care packages and meals to feed healthcare heroes, have surpassed $1M in contributions through the “SWFL Stronger Together” campaign. Yet, the need for supportive funding continues to grow and evolve as the healthcare systems and professionals look to manage the changing landscape of the crisis.

Donations are providing critical resources to support doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers. Funds are being used to buy additional equipment and supplies needed such as ventilators, masks, gowns and build back supplies of PPE and other resources depleted over the course of the pandemic. To better care for all needs of patients and employees, increased technology resources like iPads are continuously being added to bridge the challenges of communication, and ensuring healthcare workers are supported.
