July 28, 2025 – The Lee Health annual Team Member Giving campaign was held in June with employees giving monetarily to the organization’s lifesaving mission. In addition to the work they do every day, 774 generous employees contributed more than $215,000 to support advancements across the healthcare system. The campaign saw a 7% increase in the total amount raised over last year.
“I support the Team Member Giving Campaign because it directly helps my Lee Health colleagues and improves patient care. It’s inspiring to see how donations make a real impact across the system, and I believe in investing in the people who make Lee Health such a great place to work,” shared Dr. Damian Hanekom, medical director for the Center for Care at Lee Health.
Funds raised support employees with enhancing patient care through education and advanced training, obtaining new equipment as well as other resources that may be requested. Lee Health employees can apply for Team Member Giving funds throughout the year. Patient care requests fulfilled over the past year included:
- New voice prosthesis equipment for speech language pathologists
- A dedicated vein finder device at Sanctuary Outpatient Center
- New airway pressure monitors for the Neonatal Care Unit at Cape Coral Hospital
- Funding for employees to attend conferences and obtain professional certifications
“By participating in Team Member Giving, Lee Health employees demonstrate their belief in the care they provide and the community they serve,” commented Chris Simoneau, chief development, marketing and communications officer at Lee Health. “The safety-net mission of our nonprofit is realized through our employees and advocates who give their talents, time and treasure to ensure we are there for our community in the moments that matter.”
