Fort Myers, Fla. – February  2, 2023 — To further develop its wellness services in the Southwest Florida community, Lee Health has bolstered its affiliation with WellWay, which offers a unique model of care that focuses not only on fitness, but also on lifestyle, nutrition and overall holistic wellness.

On Feb. 1, 2023, WellWay purchased both Cape Coral and Babcock Ranch’s wellness centers from Lee Health, and they have become WellWay co-branded locations.

This change is part of Lee Health’s strategy to focus on its core strengths and establish collaborative relationships with expert providers and organizations otherwise independent from the health system.

Four years ago, Lee Health began an affiliation with WellWay to support the day-to-day operations of our wellness centers in Cape Coral and Babcock Ranch. Through the years, the WellWay team has been very successful in growing membership and managing the facilities while building a bridge between clinical and wellness services.

“We are very excited to grow this affiliation, and through our newly created Wellness and Recovery team, Lee Health will continue to have a direct relationship with WellWay to share in the care of patients who need their wellness services,” said Dana Begley, vice president of wellness and recovery for Lee Health. “We are looking forward to building a bright, innovative future with WellWay. By working together, we can strengthen our community’s wellness services and help people live healthier lives.”

If you are looking for services to help you lose weight, improve stress management or simply feel better, WellWay’s custom health plan is available free of charge. No membership is required to access these services, and virtual appointments are available. Learn more at https://wellway.com.

Please note: this change does not affect the Healthy Life Center at Lee Health Coconut Point, which will continue to provide health education and navigation services as it currently does.
