At its 7th Annual Community Luncheon, The Board of Directors of Lee Mental Health, Inc. presented five awards to individuals who have dedicated their time and talent to the agency and individuals dealing with mental illnesses and substance abuse.

Joan Patterson was named Lee Mental Health’s 2007 Volunteer of the Year for her selfless dedication and commitment of time to the agency and its mission.

Corporal Pete Woodhouse of the Fort Myers Police Department was named Lee Mental Health’s CIT (Crisis Intervention Training) Officer of the Year for 2007.

Judge Hugh E. Starnes was awarded the Lee Mental Health 2007 Advocate of the Year Award for his “person-centered” approach.

John and Ellen Sheppard received the Lee Mental Health 2007 Spirit of Philanthropy Award.

Frank Duval, Jr. was the recipient of Lee Mental Health’s 2007 Founders’ Award. His tireless efforts on behalf of Lee Mental Health span nearly 30 years.
