Board-certified colorectal surgeon Lester Rosen, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.S.C.R.S, with the Cleveland Clinic Florida Health and Wellness Center, was designated Health Care Professional of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches for his efforts to increase public awareness of colorectal disease and the importance of preventative care.
Dr. Rosen is a past president of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (2006-2007) and was tapped in the 1990s to help the U.S. government establish national guidelines for colorectal cancer screenings, todays standard of care.
Dr. Rosen is a dedicated medical educator, having spent 12 years as a professor of clinical surgery at Pennsylvania State Universitys Hershey Medical Center. He serves as a senior board examiner for the American Board of Colorectal Surgery, a position hes held for 15 years. He also previously served as an associate editor of the specialty journal Diseases of the Colon and Rectum.
