Cardiovascular surgeon Marco Bologna, M.D., has joined Baptist Health Cardiac and Thoracic Surgical Group, a part of Baptist Health Medical Group.Dr. Bologna is Board-certified in surgery and cardiothoracic surgery. He received his medical degree from the Luiz Razetti School of Medicine at the Central University of Venezuela in Caracas. He completed a research fellowship in transplant services at the Texas Heart Institute, St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Texas. Dr. Bologna then completed a surgical internship, followed by a surgical residency at Metropolitan Group of Hospitals, University of Illinois, Chicago. In addition, he was a cardiovascular surgery Fellow in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, and a Fellow in complex aortic surgery in the Division of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville.
Most recently, he was an attending surgeon at a variety of hospitals in Broward County, including Holy Cross, Coral Springs, Plantation General and Broward General Hospitals.
