Marcum LLP (formerly known in Florida as Rachlin Cohen & Holtz LLP) announces the launch of Marcum Healthcare LLC, a healthcare consulting organization focused on enhancing the day-to-day operations of payors and providers. The new organization is an extension of the Firm’s national healthcare accounting practice.
Led by Lawrence Schimmel, M.D., an industry veteran who has been both managing partner of a major surgical practice and chief executive officer of a national medical management company, Marcum Healthcare brings together highly experienced consultants in virtually every area of healthcare.

Marcum Healthcare’s comprehensive services will focus on revenue cycle enhancement, including revenue cycle management, productivity, recoveries and operating models; technology, including electronic medical records, information systems and informatics; mergers and acquisitions; and regulatory issues and compliance. The services will be targeted to hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health and long term care providers, physicians, managed care organizations, and ambulatory care centers, among others. Marcum Healthcare will also work with investors focused on healthcare entities and large employer groups.
