Joel Shepherd has been elected chairman of the Mariners Hospital Foundation Board of Directors. He most recently served as vice chairman.Shepherd is a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin. He has served in the U.S. Army and operated Shepherd Products Co., which originally sold specialty papers for industrial and military packaging. Today, the company’s major business is selling specialty treated paper to the animal research industry.
