The past year at Martin Health System has been one of new additions, service enhancements and many significant recognitions. The organization doubled the size of its newest hospital, Tradition Medical Center in Port St. Lucie. The hospital’s campus also welcomed a second medical office building with an ambulatory surgery center and retail pharmacy.

Center for Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery at Martin Health Receives Accreditation
The Center for Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery at Martin Health was recognized for its commitment to patient safety and quality care by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP®), a joint program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). This national accreditation was awarded to Martin Health for providing patients with a comprehensive multidisciplinary program of preoperative and postoperative care that improves outcomes and long-term success.
Martin Health System Achieves Level 8 in Epic Gold Star Program
Epic, the Wisconsin-based software developer best known for its development of an electronic medical record (EMR) system, has awarded Martin Health System a level 8 in the company’s Gold Star Program. The Gold Star Program measures effective use of the EMR system.

OctoberTradition Medical Center Opens New Floors and Services
Martin Health System doubled the size of Tradition Medical Center. The hospital now features 180 beds, with an expanded intensive care unit and a 12-bed progressive care unit to help transition patients from the ICU to a traditional medical-surgical unit. The maternal-child area was also renovated, including an expansion of the neonatal intensive care unit.
Martin Health System Purchases Stuart Land for Outpatient Facility
Martin Health System purchased 13 acres of land located in the northeast corner of Indian Street and Kanner Highway in south Stuart. This parcel is the site of a new state-of-the-art outpatient facility that will house a variety of health care services. The facility is in its early planning stages with an anticipated completion date of summer 2019.

Now in its 19th year, the 2016 Health Care’s Most Wired® survey and benchmarking study is a leading industry barometer measuring information technology (IT) use and adoption among hospitals nationwide. Martin Health is one of only 22 hospitals in Florida to receive the award.

HealthPark Two Opens on Tradition Medical Center Campus
HealthPark Two, a new medical office building on the campus of Tradition Medical Center in Port St. Lucie, opened. HealthPark Two joins HealthPark One to offer greater convenience and access to skilled physicians from Martin Health Physician Group. Specialties within the two medical office buildings now include: adult primary care, gastroenterology, neurology, urology, general surgery, breast surgery, nephrology, neurosurgery and vascular surgery. HealthPark Two also has a retail pharmacy and ambulatory surgery center.

Forbes Ranks Martin Health System Among Best Mid-Size Employers
Martin Health System was ranked among the top 300 of this year’s Forbes “America’s Best Mid-size Employers” list. Forbes compiles the list of the best 300 mid-size employers and 500 large employers in partnership with Statista Inc. More than 30,000 employees were asked to rate their employers based on 35 work-related attributes. The six main drivers of the employer’s attractiveness were: atmosphere at work and potential for development; image; working conditions; salary/wage; workplace; and diversity.
