November 27, 2024 – As the Medicare Open Enrollment Period (OEP) draws to a close on December 7th, Medicare beneficiaries are reminded of the valuable resources available to help them make informed decisions about their health insurance coverage. The Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders (SHINE) Program stands ready to assist beneficiaries, their families, and their caregivers by providing guidance and support throughout this critical period.
The OEP, which began on Oct. 15th, offers Medicare beneficiaries the opportunity to review, assess, and modify their healthcare coverage to better suit their individual needs. This includes exploring options such as Medicare Advantage Plans, Prescription Drug Plans (Part D), and Original Medicare with or without a Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) policy.
The SHINE Program, a trusted resource for Medicare beneficiaries, offers free and unbiased information to help individuals understand their Medicare options. Specially trained SHINE counselors are available to assist beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers in navigating the complexities of Medicare coverage. Beneficiaries are encouraged to take advantage of the resources offered by the SHINE Program, which include one-on-one counseling sessions and educational materials, to make the most of the OEP and ensure they have the coverage that best meets their needs for the coming year.
