February 26, 2021 – Andrea is a wound nurse specialist at Broward Health Imperial Point and has been with the healthcare system for 12 years.
Wound care and hyperbaric treatment are integrated parts of patient care at BHIP’s Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine. The specialized treatment allows for a comprehensive approach to managing challenging, non-healing wounds.
Andrea is dedicated to patient care and recently expanded her knowledge of wound care by obtaining a certification from the Baromedical Nurses Association and the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society.
“Learning more about hyperbaric oxygen therapy and the benefits patients can receive from treatment go hand-in-hand with wound healing,” Andrea said. “Becoming a Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (CHRN) was the next natural step to provide a comprehensive approach to wound care for our patients,” she shared. She received her certificate in October of 2020.
When Andrea isn’t caring for patients, she enjoys reading, cooking and spending time outdoors with her family.
