Enrique Hanabergh, M.D.President
Enrique Hanabergh, M.D., is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease, a native of Colombia, South America.
He received his medical degree at Javerlana University, Bogota, Colombia, and completed one year of internship in Public Health Service and residency in Internal Medicine. He had additional residency training at Oakwood Hospital, Dearborn, MI and did a fellowship in cardiology at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, Miami Beach, FL.
Doctor Hanabergh has been in private practice in South Florida for the last twenty nine years. He is currently on the staff of Aventura Hospital where he has been involved in various medical staff positions, including Chief of Cardiology, Chief of Medicine, Chief of Staff and Chief, Credentials Committee and member of the Board of Trustees.
He has been a member of the DCMA since 1978. Other professional affiliations include Fellowship in the American College of Cardiology, American College of Chest Physicians, American Heart Association, and member of The American Society of Echocardiography, Florida Medical Association and American Medical Association. Over the years, Doctor Hanabergh has shown a commitment to help his patients beyond the call of duty as well as his colleagues in the advocacy and betterment of the practice of medicine.
Aurelio Mitjans, M.D.President-Elect
Aurelio Mitjans, M.D., was born in Havana, Cuba and came to the United States with his parents at age 14. He attended Miami Jackson High School, Miami Dade Community College and the University of Florida. In 1967, Dr. Mitjans moved to Spain and attended the University of Salamanca, School of Medicine, graduating in 1973. After his graduation, Dr. Mitjans completed a straight medical residency at the University of Miami Hospitals and Clinics.
Dr. Mitjans is engaged in the private practice of Internal Medicine in the Hialeah area and has held multiple medical staff positions and leadership positions at Hialeah Hospital and Palmetto General Hospital, among them Member at Large Medical Executive Committee, Chief of Medicine, Chief of Staff and Secretary of Staff. Dr. Mitjans is currently Chairman of the Governing Board and Physician Advisor at Hialeah Hospital.
Dr. Mitjans has been a member of the Dade County Medical Association Board of Directors for 5 years and he is a member of the Florida Medical Association and a member of the American college of physicians. He currently serves as president-elect of the Dade County Medical Association.
Dr. Mitjans was inducted into the Miami Dade College Alumni Hall of Fame in the year 2003 and he is active in the Miami Dade College Alumni Foundation.
Frank Maderal, M.D.,Immediate Past President
Frank Maderal, M.D., was born in San Nicolas, Cuba. He attended grade school in Miami and graduated from LaSalle High School. Doctor Maderal received his medical degree from the University of Dominica. His Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship were completed at the Louisiana State University Medical Center and Charity Hospital New Orleans. Currently Doctor Maderal is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology
Doctor Maderal started his private practice in gastroenterology in 1986 in Miami. Among his many accomplishments, he served as Chief of the Department of Medicine and Chief of Staff at Hialeah Hospital. Later he served as Vice Chairman, Board of Directors of Hialeah Hospital. Doctor Maderal has also been a Member of the Board of Directors of the Cuban Medical Association, Chief of Gastroenterology and Member of the Board of Directors of Palmetto General Hospital. He was designated Volunteer of the Year for the Hialeah YMCA in 1997. Doctor Maderal is a founding partner of Digestive Medical Associates and the Palmetto Endoscopy Center.
Beny Rub, M.D.
Vice President
Beny Rub, M.D., was born in Lima, Peru. His family immigrated to Miami in 1974. A graduate of the Medical School at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico, Dr. Rub obtained his internship and residency in Pediatrics at North Shore Hospital and Medical Center in New York, and completed a fellowship in Intensive Care Pediatrics at the University of California. In 1990, he joined Rub Pediatrics MD PA with his brother Jose Mark Rub, M.D., founded by his father, the late Dr. Moises Rub.
Dr. Rub is an officer of the Dade County Medical Association Board of Directors. He is also involved with many other charity organizations in the Miami-Dade area.
Elizabeth Etkin-Kramer, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.

Elizabeth Etkin-Kramer, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., was born and raised in New York and Hollywood, FL. She received her undergraduate degree with honors from Brandeis University and her medical
degree at the University of Florida School of Medicine. She completed her internship, residency and chief residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Miami at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Etkin-Kramer has been in private practice on Miami Beach since 1993. She is board certified and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is also a member of North American Menopause Society. She has been an active member of Dade County Medical Association for many years and is currently Secretary of DCMA. In 2003 she gave up obstetrics to better focus on the gynecologic needs of her patients. In addition to private practice, she is a clinical instructor for both the medical students from University of Miami School of Medicine and the physician assistant students in the PA program at Miami-Dade Community College.
Eleonor Pimentel, M.D.Treasurer
Eleonor Pimentel, M.D., was born in Oriente, Cuba. She attended grade school in Cuba and New York City. She received her medical degree in the Dominican Republic and subsequently joined Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center-Lincoln Hospital, New York Medical College in New York for Internal Medicine and Nephrology Fellowship.
In 1987, she started private in Internal Medicine and Nephrology in Coral Gables, Florida. She is the Past President of the Cuban Society of Internal Medicine and has been associated with the Cuban Medical Association as a Member of the Executive Committee. Dr. Pimentel has participated in the International Cuban Medical Association Congresses 2007 and 2009 as Co-Scientific Director. She is currently President of the Florida Physicians Network.
