Jeffrey S. Sturman, a longtime healthcare information technology professional, has joined Memorial Healthcare System as a senior vice president and chief information officer. 
 
Sturman brings nearly 25 years consulting, management, and healthcare operations experience to his new role. His information technology expertise is the result of previous opportunities working with integrated delivery systems/academic medical centers, physician practice management groups, and managed care/insurance organizations.  
 
Most recently, Sturman was a partner at Cumberland Consulting Group, LLC (Franklin, Tennessee), a healthcare IT firm that provides services and staff to provider, payer, and life sciences companies. He helped lead the Provider Division, working with more than 300 consultants, and was one of the lead business development partners. Sturman was also interim CIO for one of the firm’s integrated delivery clients and advised several large healthcare systems on IT strategy. 
 
Sturman, a Weston resident, is no stranger to Memorial, having previously worked for the healthcare system from 2004-2012. A department leader and corporate manager during that time, Sturman managed a staff of 240 people and a $55 million annual operating budget. He was responsible for the implementation of the Epic software system, a five-year project that included 150 team members and a $140 million capital budget.

Prior to his first stint at Memorial, Sturman was a senior manager in the healthcare consultancy at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young U.S. LLC. He is a graduate of Indiana University and earned a master’s degree in healthcare administration/health services management at the University of Missouri-Columbia’s School of Medicine & Business.
