Tove Carlsson has been a nurse in cardiac units since 2016, first in her native Sweden and continuing in the U.S. She joined Memorial Healthcare System after relocating to South Florida in 2023.
“My passion is cardiac surgery. It constantly challenges you to use all your clinical skills and we’re critical to the care team,” she said.
Carlsson enjoys working bedside and feels supported by fellow nurses and doctors. She was the first nursing fellow hired for cardiac surgery’s highly complex step-down unit, which includes heart transplant recipients, and has thrived in that role.
In addition to providing exceptional clinical care, Carlsson is co-chair of one of 6 North’s Shared Governance groups, the Positivity Committee, and has led fundraisers to improve morale and unite day and night shift nurses.
