Miami Beach Community Health Center (MBCHC), celebrating more than 30 years of caring as a not-for-profit comprehensive health care network, has just opened its first thrift store, The Coop located in Miami. This milestone will provide another funding source for MBCHC to provide health care services for thousands of Miami-Dade County residents who access comprehensive care at multiple locations.
“We are very excited to open this thrift store as a means to raise additional funds to meet the growing need for medical services for the uninsured, underinsured, and underserved members of our community,” said Kathryn Abbate, M.H.A., CEO of Miami Beach Community Health Center. “Thousands of people rely on Miami Beach Community Health Center as their health care safety-net and with a downward economic trend we see our role even greater.”
