April 22, 2019 – Cardiologist Socrates Kakoulides, M.D., has joined Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute’s Cardiology group, part of Baptist Health South Florida and the region’s largest and most comprehensive cardiovascular facility. Dr. Kakoulides is Board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology and specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of complex cardiovascular disease and its risk factors. 
 
Dr. Kakoulides earned his medical degree at Stony Brook University School of Medicine in Stony Brook, N.Y. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, N.Y., and post-doctoral training in cardiology, advanced echocardiology, nuclear cardiology and cardiac CT imaging at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Hospital. 
 
Dr. Kakoulides has extensive teaching experience, training medical students and cardiology residents and fellows. Prior to joining Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute, he served as assistant professor of cardiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital. He published articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and has given numerous invited presentations at cardiology symposiums. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association.
