May 18, 2022 — There are two weeks left to help kids like 9 year-old Jaxson Warren through the Miracles Campaign at Costco.

Diagnosed with B-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in the summer of 2020, Jaxson began chemotherapy at Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida. He finished six months later. Jaxson smiled ear-to-ear as he rang the ceremonial end-of-chemo bell to symbolize he was done with chemo and only required check-ups. Children are given a bell to decorate when they start chemo, so they can look forward to ringing it on their last day of treatment. Jaxson decorated his in honor of his favorite sports team, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Halfway through the campaign, which began May 1, Costco stores in Southwest Florida have raised more than $120,000 for Golisano Children’s Hospital through Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. As a Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals partner, Golisano Children’s Hospital receives support from its affiliated fundraising campaigns, like the Costco Miracles Campaign.

Through the month of May, Costco invites every shopper to make a simple donation at the register. All funds raised stay local to benefit Golisano Children’s Hospital, and every dollar collected helps provide life-saving care to sick and injured children, like Jaxson, in the five county area of Southwest Florida.

There are still two weeks left for community members to make a difference.

“We are extremely grateful to our community for coming out to support our young patients at Golisano Children’s Hospital,” said Toni Primeaux, director of development for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through the Lee Health Foundation. “We are blown away by the region’s generosity and support of the children’s hospital through this campaign. If you haven’t yet come out to Costco to donate, I encourage you to do so. Every dollar makes a difference.”

Thanks to the generosity of the community last year, the three area Costco locations in Fort Myers, Estero and Naples raised almost $200,000 for Golisano Children’s Hospital through the Miracles Campaign. Costco matches a portion of every donation.
