Memories in Mime was the theme for the 44th Anniversary celebration of the Debbie-Rand Memorial Service League, Inc., Auxiliary to Boca Raton Community Hospital held recently at the Boca West Country Club.

The highlight of the luncheon was a creative presentation “Past Presidents in Pantomime” featuring eight of the past presidents of the League recalling significant events during their tenures. They were Gloria Drummond, the first president of the League (1962); Ruth McGoldrick, Margaret Westervelt, Joan Wargo, Deanna Wheeler, Carolyn Kates, Pat Thomas and Peggy Stein.

Nancy Quick, current president, welcomed over 200 guests and introduced Margaret Westervelt, who served as president in 1985-86 as the Honorary Chairman of the event. Nancy thanked Joan Wargo, chairman, and Phyllis Smith, co-chair, and the members of the committee: Arlette Baker, Ken Head, Jacquie Glickman, Gerry Goldberg, Annie Green, Dorene Higier, Patricia Mackey, Sally Shutt and Peggy Stein.

Special recognition was given to Gary Smith, media specialist at Boca Raton Community Hospital, and to Robert Hermans, the mime from Top Hat Entertainment.
