The Board of Commissioners has named Nabil El Sanadi, M.D., the next President/CEO of the North Broward Hospital District (NBHD) which operates under the Broward Health name.
 
Prior to this appointment, Dr. El Sanadi was a practicing emergency medicine physician at Broward Health Medical Center and the Chief of Emergency Medicine for Broward Health. He is the current chairman of the Florida Board of Medicine and serves as emergency medical services (EMS) medical director for several municipalities.
 
Dr. El Sanadi graduated with honors in medicine and public health from Ohio State University. He completed his medical residency and a one-year research fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. El Sanadi earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry with honors from Case Western Reserve University. He obtained his Master of Business Administration at the Weatherhead School of Management, and went on to complete certifications as a licensed Health Care Risk Manager and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
 
In 1994, Dr. El Sanadi joined EmCare, previously Phoenix Physicians. Prior to that, he served as chief of emergency medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland where he directed a large teaching and research-focused emergency department. He currently holds faculty appointments at Florida International University, Nova Southeastern University and The University of Miami.
