A Pompano Beach insurance agent has been appointed by Governor Jeb Bush to a seat on the North Broward Hospital District’s Board of Commissioners.

Daniel “Dan” Gordon was sworn in on April 27 at the monthly meeting of the District’s Board of Commissioners. He joins current board members John D. Collins, Cora Braynon, Gul Cumber, Steven Berrard, J. Luis Rodriguez and Paul Sallarulo. His term as a commissioner with the District lasts until December 13, 2008.

Commissioner Gordon graduated from Pompano Beach High School and earned an associate degree from Broward Junior College (now Broward Community College). He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University.

Commissioner Gordon, a Certified Property Casualty Underwriter, is with Bateman, Gordon and Sands insurance agency in Pompano Beach. He is actively involved in the Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce, the Pompano Economic Group and the Rotary of Pompano. He is president of the First Presbyterian Church Foundation in Pompano.
