A family tragedy had a profound influence on Nemala Laudat. She began her career in business and banking but transitioned to nursing after her cousin died of cardiomyopathy at 19. Laudat believes if she was in the healthcare field, she would have recognized the warning signs before it was too late.
While attending nursing school, Laudat served as a patient observer at Broward Health Medical Center, a position her mom also holds. Today Laudat is an RN and assistant nurse manager responsible for the daily operations of a 30-bed unit with 55 employees, who are all focused on patient care, safety and experience.
“I truly love helping people. It is my greatest passion in life,” Laudat said. “You have to have the heart to care and to think of others even when you are in need. As Hippocrates said, ‘Cure sometimes, treat often, comfort always.’”
Laudat graduated with a BBA from Manhattan College, an MBA from Nova Southeastern University and an ASN from Keiser University.
