Gal Dardashti, a registered nurse at Mount Sinai Medical Center’s Emergency Center in Miami Beach, recently won a DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses for her pivotal role in saving a patient from life-threatening complications. When the patient was admitted to Mount Sinai while on Coumadin and displaying slurred speech, a CT scan revealed that there was internal bleeding in the patient’s brain. With her skills, steadiness, and quick thinking, Gal swiftly administered life-saving medications to stabilize the patient and minimize further complications from the hemorrhaging. Thanks to Gal’s quick response—and ability in maneuvering difficult medical cases—the patient’s condition was stabilized and has since been discharged after receiving medical treatment. Gal is an example of the excellence, dedication and expertise offered by Mount Sinai’s skilled team of nurses.
